قصة الفيلم
اختطف النظام الإيراني الصحفي الأمريكي الصريح، جيم كافيزيل، أثناء إلقائه محاضرات في القاهرة. ثم اقتيد إلى الشرق الأوسط ليُحاكم بتهم باطلة. حاولت زوجته، وهي مسؤولة في وزارة الخارجية، استخدام نفوذها لإقناع الحكومة الأمريكية بالتدخل لاستعادة زوجها. لكنها سرعان ما أدركت أن الحكومة الأمريكية لن تتدخل، فاضطرت إلى الذهاب إلى الشرق الأوسط للبحث عنه بنفسها.
